To help ABSS users comply with Malaysia’s e-Invoicing requirements, ABSS introduced ABSS Connect in August 2024 — a cloud-based middleware platform. It acts as the bridge between your ABSS desktop software and LHDN’s MyInvois system.

What is Middleware?
In Malaysia’s e-Invoicing system, middleware is like a messenger between your accounting software and the LHDN’s MyInvois Portal.
Most accounting software, like ABSS (formerly MYOB), do not directly connect to LHDN’s e-Invoicing system. That’s where middleware comes in — it helps both systems “talk” to each other in the required format.
Why is Middleware Needed?
- Different systems speak different “languages”
Your accounting software creates invoices in one format. LHDN wants them in a specific format (like JSON). Middleware converts your invoice into LHDN’s required format. - Automates the e-Invoice process
Middleware:- Facilitates the sending of invoices electronically via the internet to LHDN’s MyInvois portal.
- Receive validation or rejection notifications from LHDN.
- Generate the validated invoice (with QR code) to share with your customer.
- Ensures compliance
Middleware checks that your invoice includes all the mandatory information (e.g., TIN, etc) and complies with LHDN’s e-Invoice requirements — reducing mistakes and rejections. - Minimizes disruption to your business
Instead of changing your entire system, middleware allows your existing software to connect smoothly with LHDN’s platform.
What Does ABSS Connect Do?
- Extracts your invoice data from ABSS Accounting or ABSS Premier.
- Transforms it into the correct e-Invoice format.
- Submits it to LHDN through the API channel.
- Retrieves the validation details from the MyInvois portal, including the UUID, date and time stamp of validation.
- Sends the validation details back to your ABSS Accounting or ABSS Premier.
